Whilst Rattray's produced bicycles and frames under the specific names, "Continental Model" "Continental Supreme" and "Queen of Scots", there is no firm means of identifying one from another, other than in finish and specification. Separate model names (for example "Ventoux" and "l'Ecosse") were also used from time to time, to identify certain road/race and track from the touring or club machines.

The likelihood though. of finding two machines the same, or one specific model though not impossible, is quite remote. Much of this appears to have been as a direct result of the constantly changing specifications and fashions as the Scot marque evolved alongside current cycle technology, and customers demand.

The high number of customer options that were available, and the amount of variation to the standard specification offers little to the chances of finding a "standard" Scot, or finding one of the named models. Small Catalogues were however produced and these at least give some guide to the base specifications in Rattray's range at that time.
