This
photograph was taken at Rattray's workshop in Murray Street. Although
no date is available for when the photograph was taken, there are some
typical pre-World War II features on the frame. It appears to use a Chater-Lea
lugset and pre-war clip-style head set and lamp bracket. Note the slender
Durax cranks and what looks like a Reynolds seatpost (the top end is formed
'round' almost to the point of being closed). It looks to have a Scot
"Continental Model" transfer on the seat tube similar to that used for
many years after, however the down tube has yet another variation. Consisting
of the words "The Scot" placed between two thistles set on what may be
a gold panel. with an ornate lined edge. Similarly the head tube uses
yet another design of transfer for the head tube badge.
