456 Q - 1949
Another
non-standard full '531' framed Scot. Two points of particular interest
are (a) The Chater-Lea lamp bracket boss is brazed to the left-hand fork
blade as were those supplied to some overseas customers - for example
to Canada. and (b) The two additional tubes brazed between both seat stays
and the seat tube at the brake bridge (These tubes are identical dimensionally
to the lower end of the seat stays). The frame also uses sprung steel
cable clips brazed to the underside of the top tube.
Classic content of
the cat ? None - but he's 91 (cat) years-old and having survived the catastrophic
failure of the tube in a Veloflex tyre at 130 psi is thoroughly bike safe
!
