On the counter in the main shop - certainly at Murray Street, Rattray's used small frames - purely for display purposes - showing the frame lug set and frame ends. At least two of these were in use (though I'm sure I remember several on display at any one time)

Although a lot of folk who visited Rattray's will remember the wee frames - they rarely pop up in photographs. If you look carefull at this small image taken at Murray Street, they can be seen on the shelf at the rear.
