FORK CROWN DETAIL

Over the history of the company the majority of Scot frames were built with forks having a rake from 1.1/2" to 2.5/8".

The rake was determined by not only the year the frame was built, and the current fashion, but also by virtue of it being another "as required by the customer" option.

Predetermined rakes were identified in the Catalogues by the shape of the fork crown cut-out's, and much work has still to be done to correlate the pattern to the amount of rake used. The following however are some examples of crown cut-out's that can be found.

1947
Q / 1949
R / 1950
A / 1951
H / 1958
I / 1959
