Fellow Scot George MacLeod from Tillicoultry bought this Flying Scot in 1978. Originally set up & equipped (including Campagnolo gears) for racing, George altered it to make it more appropriate for touring, including fitting Mavic clincher rims and a wider ratio freewheel block (14-28). When he acquired it it was finished in two-tone blue, though there were no transfers in place. In
1982, George asked the then owners of the company who were producing
the Flying Scot, (David Rattray (Cycles) to date the bike with the following
