Whilst the bike has acquired modern components over the years, the frame clearly shows hallmarks from when it was built in 1950. The frame has been finished in a Metallic Lilac colour, with gold lug lining. The 1/2 rear stays, fork tips and crown, along with the complete head tube and top / down tube lugs have been chromium plated. The lug lining on the head tube however has been done in bright red as is the infill on the fork crown slot. Although not that visible in this photograph, the down tube transfer "The Flying Scot" is placed over a gold background, with 'speed-effect' black streaks having been applied to the more common script (in this case bright red with a black outline) Note the Lubricating point, here on the Bottom bracket shell, and as seen previously on the down tube lug. Although little remains of the original, the "Scot Continental Model" transfer on the seat tube has been placed within a gold and maroon diamond shaped panel A hallmark of the pre-WWII period, and until the early 1950's was the stamping of the frame number on the left-hand rear frame end as can be seen here.
