Such was the popularity and allure of the Flying Scot's that from time to time mystery frames pop up. These are frames that don't quite fit the bill - some that look not unlike a Scot, but are missing some of the wee Rattray's "signature" details that appear in almost all of the frames produced by them. Often they come with some kind of provenance - it came from a reputable dealer who should know - the original owner said it was a Scot - and so on.
