Rattray's resumed full frame production not long after the end of the war, but acute material shortages (specifically steel and other non-essential spares) meant much of what they produced looked very much along the lines of what had been in vogue some ten years earlier. During this time however the rising trend for weekend cycling and 'club' culture brought many new customers, and slowly saw the design of their frames move in line with the latest continental fashions - particularly from France. It will be to no surprise then to see that many machines from this era still survive today, more than 50 years later.
